Savannah Georgia
After a great nights rest in St. Augustine we arrived in Savannah late morning. Bryan drove around trying to find some shade so we could check out the local parks in the area. The weather was much cooler and with our vents both going and in shade we knew both animals would be fine. We probably walked at least 5 miles going through all the different historic parks that Savannah had to offer. We both immediately fell in love with this place. After some walking we decided we were thirsty and stoppped at a well known local dive bar. We were greeted by some locals and they gave us many suggestions. That night we were both hankering for a burger, so as the local bartender suggested we hopped in the van and headed out. We found the place, but it seemed more like a local party than a restaurant/bar.Bryan got out and checked it out and we were in the wrong spot. We finally found the place that the bar tender suggested and she didn’t let us down. The burger was AMAZING. You can’t really make a good burger in the van, so we both were very satisfied. We met some more locals at this place and Bryan got a charge of the lady saying that their gym coach was with them celebrating a birthday and they were all enjoying beers and naughty bar food. She said he would make them all do extra burpees tomorrow. So very true! We drove to a local neighborhood and parked and spent the night. Next morning took our bikes out and rode them down to the river. This place was super packed with tourists, but also very cool. Rode our bikes back to the van and we set off on foot again. Walked back to the local dive bar and chatted again with the local folks. I saw on FB that there was a live band at anther local bar, so we ventured out to see them. Had one beer each and listened to the band and walked back to the van. Bryan drove to another spot for the night and the whole time in Savannah nobody bothered us. Savannah is clean, beautiful safe walking/biking place and I would highly recommend a visit. Now, off to Charleston we head.
