Meet me tonight in Atlantic City
We really weren’t quite sure where to go from DC, but decided to head to Atlantic City. We arrived around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and researched a place to stay for the night . We were both in need of a shower and a good nights rest. l found a hotel on the Hopper app and Red Roof Inn was about a 15 min drive. We arrived at the hotel with a quick and friendly check in. I should’ve known this was going to be the most disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed at. The stairwell was dirty and dried white paint was on every step to our floor. Opened up the door and literally thought to myself, is it worth a shower for the night? We decided it was best to pull all our bedding from he van and bring it up the room. We both took a shower, made a noddle dish from Costco and felt 100% better, Our sleep was decent that night. I woke up and for some unknown reason I decided to google the reviews of this hotel. One guest said there as a rat in rat room and the hotel didn’t give them any compensation for the room.
Note to self is to google all reviews before booking a hotel. I quickly ran out to tell Bryan of that one review and noticed something on their pillow that I had laid on the ground that night. Cheech decided this place wasn’t gross enough and did his number 2 on the pillow. Yes, I picked it up and cleaned the pillow case as best as I could. We high tailed it and felt like luck owes us one in Atlantic City. We arrived at the same parking lot and plugged the meter. Weather was perfect for the animals to stay in the van. We decided to set the limit to 40.00 each for gambling. We made our way to several casinos. The boardwalk was super fun and full of shops, restaurants and arcade games. We decided to try our luck at the Hard Rock Hotel and my slot machine took all my money in less than 20 minutes. Now, I know why we don’t gamble. Walked back to the van and headed to Philadelphia to seek a famous Philly cheesesteak sandwich. We were slightly re-routed due to I95 catching on fire and closed for an unknown time. Luck isn’t following us at this point, but we are stilling enjoying every in minute of our adventure. Finally made our way to grab our sandwich and Bryan admitted to me it wasn’t actually Philadelphia and that we were still in New Jersey. Didn’t mater to me because the sandwich was still amazing. It was down pouting and felt like home. We settled in for the night at a trailhead in Cherry Hill. This little town was absolutely beautiful. A policeman showed up a little after we arrived at our spot, but took off after 10 min or so and didn’t come knocking on the van - my biggest fear. Woke up that morning and we took a little hike off the trailhead. Ran into a volunteer who was a teacher and in the summer he goes around and mows all the local trailheads in the area, Packed up all our belongings and off to New York we go.
