Charleston, South Carolina
Woke up in the morning and we texted our friend Christine who we both worked with at Premier. I was shocked that she was only 28 minutes away from Savannah. We planned on meeting after a much needed trip to a local Costco and grocery store. We arrived at Christine’s house and she showed us around “Margaritaville” in her golf cart. We stopped and met her sister and brother in law and saw our very first alligator in their pond just sitting outside of it sunning itself. We were very impressed with this community and all their amenities they offer. Our friends Tom and Karen are moving from Portland here this fall. Christine was very gracious and let us take a shower and then we were off to Charleston. The drive was just a little under 2 hours and when we arrived we were both exhausted. We drove downtown and the place was packed and the roads were very narrow. We saw some amazing homes, but it was just too crowed and really no where to park the van. We decided to drive to the local Elks and stay the night. We arrived and the place was also super busy. Tons of cars in the parking lot and loud music thumping from the building. Turns out it was a private event - sorority reunion. The bartender was super sweet and took down our information and let us stay in the lot for free that night.
