Boston, Mass.
We arrived in Boston to some rainy weather. I noticed that the bar “Cheers” was filmed here for a few episodes and we tried to grab a beer, but it was way too busy. We did get inside and looked around and took a few photos. That was good enough for the both of us and we headed back to the van where I researched on FB for events happening in the Boston area. The Broadway Musical “Jagged Little Pill” by Alanis Morrisette was playing that night. Of course Bryan got on the computer and tried to find the cheapest tickets, which he did :). We put our jackets on and walked about a mile to the musical. We proceeded through the check in and one ticket made it in fine, but the lady was having difficulty with the other one. She asked us to step aside and got her manager. The manager asked for Bryan’s ID and left for a short bit. She came back and told us that we had purchased tickets for the next weekend. We told her we were from out of town and she directed us to the will call area and wished us luck. The place was packed and we were trying to leave to head to will call., but everyone was coming in and no usher was with us, so Bryan said “let’s just go in”. I was like “she is watching us” and proceeded to follow him in - partners in crime until the end and it all worked out. We enjoyed the musical and the 2nd half was more spectacular. The next day was Father’s Day and I surprised Bryan with a walk to a bakery that we as family. all went to in New York years ago. The place is called Levain Bakery and if you know you know how great their cookies are. Bryan really wanted to attend the Boston Red Sox/NY Yankees game. We scored some tickets and walked about a mile again to Fenway Park. I had never been and was quite taken back by the place. We sat down for about 15 minutes or so and then tried to score better seats. We almost made into the Green Monster section, but security shut us down. Red Sox won and we wanted to celebrate near by. The place we stumbled upon was super busy, but made our way to the bar and ordered some beers. There was absolutely no open tables at this time. We walked past a couple that was sitting at a 4 top and asked if we could share the table. Turns out the guy was wearing a TCU shirt and hat. They were both alumni’s of TCU. Nice couple and enjoyed talking to them. We headed back to the van and settled in for the night before our next adventure.
