Apalachicola
We left New Orleans knowing we were going to Florida, but not much more. It was amazing how quickly we cruised through Alabama and Mississippi on the gulf coast. We were in Florida before we knew it, but the panhandle took us some time to tackle. There were some cool little tourist towns like Watercolor and the larger Destin with Crab Island where there were tons of boats hanging out on a sandbar. The beaches were beautiful white sand and teal water color. Our route was along the coast on a smaller highway. We were ready to stop driving for the day and it took us about an hour to locate a proper place to stay. We found this quaint small town named Apalachicola and there was this little hotel called the Gibson that looked very cool so we decided to park on the street right outside the hotel. We got up in the morning and did a small walk with Gus. Then, off we went to the Elks in Sarasota…
