Departed 4/20
The process of getting ready for the adventure we are hopeful to be embarking on is a bit overwhelming, We are scared, excited, anxious, and optimistic. Our first stop was to meet brother Chad in Salem at B2 Taphouse. Paula and I shared a brisket nacho that was delish, great first stop to say see you late Bro.. They had a couple cases of tall boy beers for $10 ea which we quickly laid claim to. Off to Bend where we encountered a decent snow storm at Hodoo. Slept in the van parked in my Dad’s driveway since it was our cat Cheeh’s first night on the road. The drive stressed him a little but he seemed pretty happy once it stopped driving. This was the first night sleeping on our new mattress and.I thought it was very firm and comfortable. The space heater made the van too hot so the sleep was not the best, but there are a number of things to tune in as we move along. I met my Mom for a nice visit on Friday morning. There were many nice people that live in her Bend Touchmark facility. Kirk, was a previous park ranger at Arches and Canyonlands so got a couple good tips on Moab. We plan on shoving off in the morning through Painted Hills and on to Ontario to visit Sister Darcy and John.
